Dapo Olajuwon’s EPL prediction: Game Week 23

Watford vs Norwich- 1X (Tip: 2-1)
This is a bottom clash with just one point separating them- WAT (14 pts) and NOR (13 pts) and it would be an important game for both of them with the mindset of winning it. Norwich got a win against Everton last time out which would help them build up some confidence going into this one. Watford ended their losing streak with a draw at Newcastle and they’ll want to build from there. Both of them are not defensively good but the Hornets are quite better going forward. So with home advantage, I think Watford will manage to cross the line. FT: WAT 0-3 NOR (WRONG OUTCOME)

Everton vs Aston Villa- 2X (Tip: 1-2)
Everton have sacked Rafa Benitez and Duncan Ferguson will be in charge of this game as the caretaker. I have seen him there before- he doesn’t tolerate any nonsense and his setup usually doesn’t score many goals. Usually, you get a new bounce when you have a new manager but Aston Villa are in good shape right now. They showed us last time out with their draw against Man Utd where Coutinho showed us a masterclass performance within 10 minutes. Their new signings would have trained better under Steven Gerrard, blending into the game plan and fully ready for this one. FT: EVE 0-1 ASV ((CORRECT OUTCOME)

Brentford vs Wolves- 2X (Tip: 0-1)
Brentford are tired in my opinion. I’ve always said that EPL is an unforgiving league and it would drain you if you don’t have enough resources in your reservoir. Brentford are not scoring and they are conceding many goals (10 goals in last 3 games) at the moment. Now they face Wolves who are defensively good and I don’t know how they will get something out of this game if they refuse to score. Wolves don’t score many either but soon or later, the goals will come by and I see them getting a win or draw here to keep their Europe ambition on sight as they seem to be in the mix. FT: BRE 1-2 WOL (CORRECT OUTCOME)

Leeds Utd vs Newcastle- 1 (Tip: 2-0)
Leeds Utd have won two consecutive games for the first time this season and I’m beginning to see them recover the identity which we know them for. I never thought of them being relegated and they are gradually sliding away from the relegation zone.
Newcastle are very busy in the transfer market and they have been linked to many players. They’ve signed two players already but it isn’t enough to change anything. They are still in crisis-fighting relegation and not winning games. And of course, I can’t see them flipping it here. FT: LEE 0-1 NEW (WRONG OUTCOME)

Man Utd vs West Ham- over 1.5 (Tip: 1-1)
Man Utd are quite an unpredictable team because they could be the opposite of your expectation at times. Only 2 points separate Man Utd (7th) and West Ham (4th) which makes the top 4 an open challenge still. West Ham are a resilient team and they are quite consistent lately. Both teams will want to win and keep their eyes on the European spot which is why I will be sitting on the fence and enjoying the show. FT: MNU 1-0 WHU (WRONG OUTCOME)

Southampton vs Man City- 2 (Tip: 0-3)
Southampton played well against Man City in the reverse fixture back in September and got a point. It is going to be a different story and outcome this time around because everything Pep Guardiola touches turns to gold at the moment. Man City are in red hot form and whatever team Pep is putting out there will just continue the good work and make it 13 consecutive wins. FT: SOU 1-1 MNC (WRONG OUTCOME)

Arsenal vs Burnley- 1X (Tip: 2-0)
I read the news that Burnley are having a financial crisis which resulted in an alarm for payment delays. I’ve always said that there is a problem at Burnley which we don’t know but they’ll want to play it down by getting something here and to show that they can do without Chris Wood that was sold to Newcastle- as in, not sold because of the financial crisis.
Arsenal are good at home as their home record says it but I have my doubt over the Gunners because every time they’ve had to play more than once in a week, they’ve not had a result. So they are going to play this one 3 days after a defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao cup semi-final but I’ll still tip them to get something here. FT: ARS 0-0 BUR (CORRECT OUTCOME)

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool- over 1.5 (Tip: 1-1)
Liverpool are going into this game just 3 days after playing a hectic game with the Gunners in the Carabao cup semi-final and I think it would affect them. Also, they are not as handful as with Mane and Salah while Crystal Palace are defensively good to prevent them from penetrating goals. I’m sure the Eagles will make it a difficult game for them which is why I’m sitting on the fence. For the Reds to get over the line, they must put in a lot of great effort. FT: CRY 1-3 LIV (CORRECT OUTCOME)

Leicester vs Brighton- over 1.5 (Tip: 2-1)
Leicester’s last-minute defeat last time out was so incredible and they’ve been like a sinusoidal wave this season. Also in terms of results, they’ve not had the same outcomes in two successive games in their last 10 games. So if they lost last time out, they should win or draw here knowing full well that Brighton are good at getting a draw instead of accepting defeat. The Seagulls look a bit resilient especially when they’re on the back foot and they play beautiful football. I saw them torment Chelsea last time out, so they are capable of getting something here. FT: LEI 1-1 BRI (CORRECT OUTCOME)

Chelsea vs Tottenham- under 3.5 (Tip: 1-0)
Tottenham are still unbeaten in the league under Antonio Conte with the shocking victory last time out against Leicester which made it 9 unbeaten runs. I think it will end here even though Chelsea are struggling with form and congested fixtures at the moment. The positive side is the fact that Chelsea defeated Spurs home and away recently and would be so confident facing them again with the winning mentality. It is going to be a good game and a very close scoreline. FT: CHE 2-0 TOT (CORRECT OUTCOME)
