Newcastle vs Everton- 2X (Tip: 1-2)
Frank Lampard’s Everton got a good win over Brentford in a cup game last time out. I can feel quality in the Toffees side with the likes of Dele Alli, Van de Beek in the midfield along with Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, and co. I’m sure St. James’ Park is going to be entertaining here because Newcastle have got also some new signings. They were quite busy in the January transfer window making over €100m transfer business. So it will be interesting to see what they make of these signings. They are so much in need of points but usually, it takes time to get new players to start getting along with one another. FT: NEW 3-1 EVE (WRONG OUTCOME)
West Ham vs Watford- 1X (Tip: 2-0)
Roy Hodgson’s first game in charge of Watford ended in a 0-0 draw against Burnley last time out and that’s their first clean sheet in many games. They need to win games as soon as possible and that’s why they’ve brought Roy Hodgson but I don’t think they will get a result against the Hammers.
West Ham have got Michail Antonio back will is a boost for them and I see them getting the 3 points here. I’m expecting a good performance from them here contrary to the one they had in the cup game.
FT: WHU 1-0 WAT (CORRECT OUTCOME)
Burnley vs Man Utd- 2X (Tip: 0-1)
Man Utd have got serious problems which is why I’m not surprised that they remain the same under Ralf Rangnick despite all the expectations. No United fan should be happy that they’re 4th on the table because they will have to do a lot more to keep up and I can’t see that around the corner. Burnley, on the other hand, also have their problems – a major one is the goal-scoring which has limited them to only one win this season. How will you win games if you can’t score? If Man United fail to win here, it means their problems have caught up with them. FT: BUR 1-1 MNU (CORRECT OUTCOME)
Man City vs Brentford- 1/ over 1.5 (Tip: 3-0)
Brentford are on a poor run having lost 5 consecutive games in all competitions and conceding a lot of goals. No team will like to face Man City with this kind of run.
Man City will be eager to extend the gap with 2nd place, Liverpool after dropping points to Southampton last time out in the league. Brentford do surprise us against big teams but I can’t see them getting anything out of this game. FT: MNC 2-0 BRE (CORRECT OUTCOME)
Norwich vs Crystal Palace- over 1.5 (Tip: 1-1)
It is hard for me to pick a side here because Norwich have improved massively. Including the FA Cup, they’ve won 4 of their last 5 games. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are doing well under Patrick Vieira which makes it difficult to pick a side. A few weeks back, I would have easily backed Palace but a lot has changed with the Canaries and I think Dean Smith should get some accolades. FT: NOR 1-1 CRY (CORRECT SCORE)
Tottenham vs Southampton- 1X (Tip: 2-1)
Tottenham made a few signings this January and I am eager to see how Antonio Conte will set his line-up. Southampton are tough to defeat and with Broja up front, I think they will score because he is a potential threat. Spurs couldn’t win over a 10-men Southampton in the reverse fixture and the draw was more like a victory for the Saints. I’m sure Spurs would be seeking their revenge here as they play at home and I think Harry Kane will play well. He and the fans will be key factors here. FT: TOT 2-3 SOU (WRONG OUTOME)
Aston Villa vs Leeds Utd- 1X (Tip: 2-1)
What case can I make for Leeds? I don’t know because I know two things observable. One, Bamford is still unavailable and Marcelo Bielsa’s team usually crashes down after 2-3 seasons. I still feel they will hang in there which is why I am not bothered about them relegating.
Aston Villa are playing well under Steven Gerrard and they’re moving up the table little by little. I feel they will do well enough to secure a victory here. FT: ASV 3-3 LEE (CORRECT OUTCOME)
Liverpool vs Leicester- 1 (Tip: 3-0)
Leicester were awful in their cup game defeat and I was disappointed. They beat Liverpool in the reverse fixture and now it is time for them to take it back on a bigger fold.
Salah and Mané should be back and available for this one. And even without them, I can’t see the Foxes keeping them out. This will be a cruise and muscle-flexing for the Reds. FT: LIV 2-0 LEI (CORRECT OUTCOME)
Wolves vs Arsenal- Under 3.5 (Tip: 1-0)
This has to be a low-scoring affair. Arsenal had a poor January crashing out of domestic cups and zero league win. So it is hard to make a case for them against Wolves that are silently climbing up the league table- Bruno Lage deserves some accolades. Both teams are defensively good and I don’t think either of them can find their way through. This should be a game where both of them will be waiting to capitalize on their mistakes. FT: WOL 0-1 ARS (CORRECT OUTCOME)
