Dapo Olajuwon’s EPL prediction: Game Week 26

West Ham vs Newcastle- 1X (Tip: 2-1)
Newcastle have surprised me with 3 consecutive wins. I’m impressed with their results but unconvinced they can get something at West Ham. Kieran Tripper is out injured and I feel their defense will be somehow porous and lack coordination. They will have to do a lot more, especially to keep out Jarrod Bowen who’s got West Ham driving on despite being flipping white and black in recent times. I think West Ham will get something out of this game no matter what.

Arsenal vs Brentford- 1X (Tip: 2-0)
Brentford got a draw against Crystal Palace last time out to end their 5 successive losses. Facing Arsenal at the Emirates stadium afterward is not a good thing because they need a win as soon as possible to flip their poor run. Arsenal’s win against Wolves last time out was a great one and worth the celebration they had because they were down to 10 men. Also, it was the first time they scored a goal in 5 matches which makes me have a bit of a doubt here. The goals have been hard to come by and Brentford might just take hold of that. I am expecting a revenge show from Arsenal contrary to the 3-0 defeat they suffered from the Bees in GW 1.

Aston Villa vs Watford- 1X (Tip: 1-0)
I was disappointed how Aston Villa lost to Newcastle last time out. They had a goal ruled out though and I thought that wasn’t a fair decision, especially for ruling out my prediction to be candid. I think it will be a different performance for Steven Gerrard’s men here because Watford haven’t scored any goal since Roy Hodgson took charge. I feel the Hornets would have watched, and studied what happened to Villa against the Magpies and try to replicate it but I don’t think it would work out for them.

Brighton vs Burnley- 1X (Tip: 1-0)
Brighton were quite unfortunate to have lost to Man Utd. They had a couple of chances in the game before Man Utd took control of the game and got the win. They have only one duty to do here which is to find the back of the net and I’m sure one would be sufficient. Burnley are likely to defend throughout the game if their striker is, or, is not available. They know it is their strength and we saw how they made it very difficult for Liverpool to beat them. So good luck to the Seagulls in trying to find a way through the Clarets.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea- 2 (Tip: 0-2)
Crystal Palace are on a poor run having got 3 pts out of a possible 15 (3Ds, 2Ls in 5 games) but their performances aren’t that bad. Sooner or later they will flip it but I don’t think it’s happening here.
Chelsea have been on break so they’ll be back refreshed and ready for this game. I see Chelsea winning this tie but not with a wide margin like in the reverse fixture at Stanford Bridge.

Liverpool vs Norwich- 1 (Tip: 3-0)
This is a difficult time for Norwich. Last week, they faced Man City who ended their good run and now they face Liverpool at Anfield. I can’t see them getting anything out of this game.
Liverpool are going to miss Diogo Jota out on ankle injury and I am expecting Firmino to replace him. The Reds will be a handful and too much for the Canaries. I think everybody should be expecting Liverpool to win like me.

Southampton vs Everton- over 1.5 (Tip: 1-1)
Frank Lampard has been putting things together at Everton. They got a decent result last time out and I think they will want to build from there, but their away record is so poor. Southampton, on the other hand, have a good home record having lost once at St. Mary’s in the season. They are difficult to beat at home and the Manchester clubs can testify to that. So I will rather bank on goals rather than backing a side because I have a feeling the result could go either way.

Man City vs Tottenham- 1 (Tip: 2-0)
Tottenham have been on a poor run and, surprisingly, it is taking longer than I thought. I feel something isn’t right at the club. I watched Harry Kane closely last time out against Wolves and said to myself that “his mind isn’t at Spurs anymore, we are only seeing his body and Daniel Levy should have let him go”. Man City are giving me real joy and I can’t hide it anymore especially when we ripped Sporting CP apart in the UCL. We are getting results, playing well and everyone at City is having a good moment. Tottenham will have to go to the extreme if they are going to get anything here.

Leeds Utd vs Man Utd- 2X (Tip: 1-2)
Leeds Utd were poor against Everton last time out but it doesn’t mean they will change their style of play. Man Utd are quite fortunate to get a result against Brighton last time out. Here, they will face an attacking Leeds Utd’s team who will come at them and get in their face. As they do this, there will be spaces at the back for Man Utd to counterattack. When the Red Devils do counter, how many chances or how well can they convert into goals? This will be the scoreline determinant.

Wolves vs Leicester- over 1.5 (Tip: 1-1)
Leicester were looking like they’ve got their form back against West Ham last time out until they conceded an equalizer in the final minutes and I feel it’s disappointing. They have been dealt with this season due to injury blows and they still have key players out injured. Wolves will be thinking they can get something out of this game too due to all the crisis the Foxes are facing. And as usual, Wolves are difficult to break down, so I will be looking forward to seeing a game where Leicester will do most of the attacking while Wolves show us their defensive prowess mostly in 90′.
