🇶🇦 QATAR VS ECUADOR 🇪🇨
I think this game will be a goalless draw because Qatar as the host nation will try not to disappoint on their first outing while Ecuador is past gone. Also “in the tournament’s 92-year history, the World Cup hosts have 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 lost their opening game” according to BR Football on Twitter. So yes, I will be going with a goalless draw.
TIP: QAT 0-0 ECU
🏴 ENGLAND VS IRAN 🇮🇷
Iran may not be a footballing nation but this match won’t be a roller-coaster for England. I believe they will give the Three Lions a good fight. I am not expecting Gareth Southgate to continue with his conventional 3-5-2 formation but rather expect him to play more attackers and wide men to stretch out the Iranians and get the job so quickly in this one.
TIP: ENG 2-0 IRN
🇸🇳 SENEGAL VS NETHERLANDS 🇳🇱
The Netherlands may be a household name when it comes to football but I am sure that the Senegalese will give them a run for the points even without their talisman Sadio Mané. Although they’ve got some notable players like Ismaïla Sarr, Koulibaly, Mendy (the Goalkeeper), you don’t need anyone to tell you that there is a quality difference between these two national teams which is going to make a difference here. The best result for Senegal would be a draw.
TIP: SEN 0-1 NET
🇺🇸 UNITED STATES VS WALES 🏴
This match will be a tricky one but regardless, I see the United States winning the encounter. I can’t decide which side is better than the other but I think the United States national team will play a more beautiful game here which is why I am backing them to get something out of this game.
TIP: USA 2-1 WAL
🇦🇷 ARGENTINA VS SAUDI ARABIA 🇵🇰
Having come to Qatar with a strong squad, Argentina remains one of the favorites in this tournament. There is no case I can make for Saudi Arabia and I am sure Argentina will be too much and handful for them to deal with no matter what selection the Argentina coach makes.
TIP: ARG 4-0 SAU
🇩🇰 DENMARK VS TUNISIA 🇹🇳
Denmark will beat Tunisia, it is simple. Tunisia are physical and quite technical which means they would commit fouls and must be prepared to defend against set-pieces, especially from Christian Eriksen. Another reason is the quality difference – Tunisia has very few notable players while it is easy for you to mention world class players in every department of Denmark’s national team.
PREDICTION: 1 & under 2.5
TIP: DEN 1-0 TUN
🇲🇽 MEXICO VS POLAND 🇵🇱
Since the 2014 World Cup, Mexico has never been the same. Hernández is no longer in his prime but I think their goalkeeper, Ochoa, is still very much good. Poland will beat Mexico if they can make the right deliveries to Robert Lewandowski because he is a beast in front of goal.
TIP: MEX 0-1 POL
🇫🇷 FRANCE VS AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
Even with the injuries concerning France, they will still win this match but they remain a nation to beat without N’Golo Kanté as the engine room alongside with Paul Pogba, Christopher Nkunku, and Kareem Benzema the world best. France are now short of one striker as their coach, Deschamps announced that there won’t be any replacement for Benzema who’s out of the World Cup due to injury. I don’t think they will score many goals here.
TIP: FRA 2-0 AUS
